Student

Credits required: 

  • None - but you must be enrolled on an entry level certificate course to get Student membership.

Actions needed to obtain credits/membership:

Students receive a variety of STEP benefits and services but students are not recognised as Members of STEP.

Affiliate Member

Credits required: 

60 entry-level credits through a combination of APEL and APCL

Actions needed to obtain credits/ membership:

Enrol on an Advanced Certificate. 

or

Join as an Affiliate based on Approved Prior Learning (APL). You will remain at this level unless you complete additional qualifications.

You can use the term 'STEP Affiliate' on your CV, business cards, stationery and email signature.

 

Associate Member

Credits required:

  • 120 Credits

Actions needed to obtain credits/membership: 

It is not possible to join STEP as an Associate Member. Only Affiliate Members can upgrade to Associate membership 

 

 

Full STEP Member

Credits required:

  • 240 Credits 

Actions needed to obtain credits /membership: 

  • Complete STEP entry level stage (60 entry level credits)  
  • Complete four Advanced Certificates, (120 diploma credits) 
  • Achieve minimum of 2 years experience at a specialist level (60 Practice level credits)
