Instalment plans

You can pay for your course fees in instalments if you choose the interest-free instalment plans available for certain courses. Specifically, you can opt for three equal monthly instalments for Certificate and Advanced Certificate level courses that total over £800 (excluding VAT), or six equal monthly instalments for the Professional Postgraduate Diploma. Payments can be made using a credit or debit card.

Entry requirements and guidance

To be eligible for this programme, you will be required to have:

• Full STEP Membership (TEP)

OR

• A relevant professional qualification or vocational degree + five years' industry experience.

If you do not have the above qualifications and experience, then it is recommended that you study the STEP Diploma before taking the Postgraduate Diploma.

To enrol on this course you will also need 60 Entry Level credits or already be a member of STEP.

60 Entry Level credits which can be achieved through:

  • Completion of a STEP Certificate (30 credits)
  • Previous learning - confirmed through Accreditation of Prior Certificated Learning (APCL) application - 30 credits
  • Work experience - confirmed through Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL) - 30 credits

Note: You do not need to apply for APEL or APCL if you already have had your applications approved or have achieved at least two STEP Certificates previously.

Become a member of STEP

This is a STEP course/qualification. STEP membership is required to study this course and must be maintained throughout the duration of your studies.

You will need 60 Entry Level credits and if you are not already you will become an Affiliate member by enrolling on this course. STEP will contact you regarding membership 4-6 weeks after course enrolment.

Successful completion provides 120 Diploma Level credits and satisfies the educational requirement for Full STEP membership

Course format

The is a six month programme delivered fully online through a blend of self-study, practical research, and attendance at monthly weekend sessions. 

Upon registration students are given access to an online learning platform, which contains bespoke course reading and workbooks for the eight masterclass topics, further reading (in the form of the STEP Diploma in Trusts and Estates and STEP Diploma in International Trust Management course manuals) and a range of additional resources. Students will also receive access to a discussion forum to facilitate networking.

The programme is assessed through the creation of a reflective journal consisting of eight masterclass commentaries (1,000–1,500 words) and a two-hour oral assessment based on course competencies and content knowledge.
