As the benchmark professional qualification within the trusts and estates industry, this Diploma expands your technical knowledge of the issues arising in the trusts and estates industry, equipping you with the skills you need to develop your own professional competence.
By developing your understanding of the administration of trusts and estates, this course enhances your ability to give clients practical advice on the law and procedures involved.
This programme comprises four Advanced Certificates:
- Administration of Estates
- Administration of Trusts
- Taxation of Trusts and Estates
- Trust and Estate Accounting
Delivered through our online learning platform and face-to-face workshops (two per Advanced Certificate), each Advanced Certificate takes four months to complete. Each Advanced Certificate is assessed via a three-hour, closed-book examination and we recommend that you spend four to six hours per week on private study for the four to six months prior to the examination.
You also have the opportunity to attend an optional Revision Day for each Advanced Certificate. The topics covered during each Revision Day vary between Advanced Certificates, but will include revision of key/difficult topics, guidance for examination preparation and tips on useful examination techniques.
For the Taxation of Trusts and Estates course, the Revision (Computations) Day will focus on computations for all taxes with lots of practical work for delegates covering the mechanics of computation preparation and the thought processes that are required before attempting the computation.
Once you successfully complete this course, you will gain the 120 Diploma Level credits and will be eligible to become a Full STEP Member.
