Meet the Team: Episode 5

We continue our meet the team series with one of our Programme Delivery Managers Katia Kyriakou-Johnson. Katia has been with CLTI for just over a year.

Katia, thank you for sharing a snippet into a day at CLTI and a little about yourself 😊

Firstly, can you explain your role here at CLTI?

I am a Programme Delivery Manager (PDM) for CLTI and this means I am responsible for the delivery of some of our wonderful courses.

What is something you love about working at CLTI?

If you have been following the meet the team series, you will probably have seen the common theme of the love for the people that work here. This is so true for me too. There is so much care and kindness in this company from all the people that work here, which makes it a pretty amazing place to work.

What does a typical day at CLTI look like for you?

My days can vary hugely, but everything I do really is for the end benefit of our students. I have a lot of communication with students from forum posts to academic queries. I am also in constant communication with tutors as well as all the other wonderful contributors to our courses that make the magic happen. Some of the other tasks that can keep occupied with in a day include reviewing updates of course materials, formatting exam papers, adding content to our online learning platform and facilitating zooms just to name a few. It really is a varied role within a fabulous team!

How do you like to start your day?

I’d like to say, like Cinderella, with the cute little birds and mice helping me get ready for the day... but sadly no my wakeup call is always at the crack of dawn by my adorable (yet annoying) 6-year-old.  My day must then begin with a cup of coffee... this is a non-negotiable! There will be the first cup before I actually start work (to give me strength and focus of mind) just to get the kids to school! Then usually another coffee (super strong one if in the office) and if I’m working from home a team's catch up with my fellows PDMs, before planning out my tasks for the day.

Finally, tell us an interesting fact about you..

For those who know me they will know I’m an Australian raised with Greek Cypriot and Scottish parents. Again, if you have followed the series, you will have seen my colleague Sabba was the tallest baby in the hospital when she was born... well I was the biggest! I put this down to the children in Scotland (in the small maternity hospital where I was born) being wee... and not me being a fat baby! 😊
