STEP Diploma in International Trust Management – New 2021 Curriculum
New Advanced Certificates and 2022 Global Timetable
Following our announcement in September 2020, we are excited to launch the final stages of the new STEP Diploma in International Trust Management curriculum, namely the two new Advanced Certificates which are available for enrolment.
With risk and compliance now at the epicentre of most business organisations, practitioners worldwide must be equipped with the necessary tools to meet these ever-evolving challenges in their day-to-day work and to interpret and implement legislation and regulation changes. Following extensive consultation, the Diploma in International Trust Management has been adapted to include new practice-based content, with comprehensive specimen trust and company documentation within the Trusts: Law and Practice (formerly the Trust Creation: Law and Practice) and Company Law and Practice Advanced Certificates.
The Trust Administration and Accounts and Trustee Investment and Financial Appraisal Advanced Certificates have also been combined into a new Advanced Certificate entitled Trustees' Duties: Investment and Management of the Trust Fund, accompanied by an entirely new fourth Advanced Certificate in Principles of International Taxation, AML, and Compliance.
To ensure that students continue to study four Advanced Certificates to obtain the Diploma award, the curriculum has been carefully re-designed to ensure only highly relevant content remains.
Visit the Advanced Certificate pages for full details of each course including course dates, assessment details and how to book your place.
How does this impact me?
As we continue to transition to the new curriculum, students who want to complete the Diploma in International Trust Management under the previous curriculum must do so by April 2022. After this date, these Advanced Certificates (Trust Administration and Accounts and Trustee Investment and Financial Appraisal) will be withdrawn.
For students wishing to complete their assessment for Trust Administration and Accounts and/or the Trustee Investment and Financial Appraisal, there will be several final courses taking place before December 2021, and two subsequent examination only sittings taking place in January 2022 and April 2022.
Once these dates have passed it will not be possible to undertake the examination as the Advanced Certificates will be withdrawn. At this point, you must enrol on one of the new Advanced Certificates.
Please note that resit applications for the previous Advanced Certificates must be submitted by the examination dates highlighted (please refer to the resit timetable which can be found on each course page). The fee to register for a resit examination (including course material access) is £150.00 (+ UK VAT if applicable) per examination.
Students who wish to apply for an exemption from the Trust Administration and Accounts and/or the Trustee Investment and Financial Appraisal must submit their exemption application by 30th September 2021.
Course Transition / Change
Students wishing to transfer enrolment from an existing Diploma 3 (Trust Administration and Accounts) or 4 (Trustee Investment and Financial Appraisal) to a new Diploma 3 (Trustees' Duties: Investment and Management of the Trust Fund) or 4 (Principles of International Taxation, AML, and Compliance), no charge will apply to provide enrolment onto the current paper was within the last 30 days. For enrolment outside of the 30 days, and where the student has been studying and/or attended part of the tuition, transfer of enrolment from an existing Diploma 3 or 4 to a new Diploma 3 or 4 will incur a charge of £495.00.
This will include those that have not attended or sat for the exam.
For students that have attempted the assessment for an existing Diploma 3 and/or 4 (more than once) and failed, there will be a charge of £495.00 + £150.00 to transfer to one of the new Advanced Certificates.
