Covering the most up-to-date developments in the industry, this course introduces you to some of the fundamental legal and practical matters involved in the administration of trusts and estates.
Broadening your knowledge of the taxation of trusts and estates as well as trust and estate accounting, this Certificate can be taken as a standalone qualification or offers you an excellent introduction to the STEP Diploma in Trusts and Estates (England and Wales) programme.
By completing this course, you will:
- Gain an overview of the law, practice and procedures involved in the trusts and estates profession
- Boost your ability to deliver comprehensive advice to clients
- Enhance the reputation of your practice by obtaining a widely recognised professional qualification
Delivered through a combination of online learning and two face-to-face workshops, this qualification will take four months to complete.
Assessment is via a three-hour, closed-book examination held at various centres across the UK, comprising multiple choice questions and essay-/scenario-based questions. We recommend that you spend four to six hours per week on private study for the four months prior to the examination.
Once you complete this course, you will gain 30 Entry Level credits towards STEP membership.
STEP strongly recommends that you attend both of the workshops in order to benefit from the face-to-face teaching of the subject matter and to discuss any technical queries or uncertainties that you may have with the course tutor. However, if you are unable to attend either of these, you are advised to email the CLT International Team to request a copy of the workshop notes made available to all delegates on the day. Please note that these are not a substitute for attendance but they do comprehensively set out the topics discussed and may assist with examination preparation.
To ensure that you get the most out of the workshops, there is a maximum class size of 30 delegates. Once this threshold is reached, we will add another date (and a third if required). If we know in advance that more than one date will be required, all planned dates will be listed on the website. If there is more than one workshop date listed next to the location you wish to attend, please specify your first and second choice of date when enrolling. If we are unable to book you on to your preferred date we will inform you as soon as possible.
