By expanding your understanding of the core legal, tax and investment issues that overlap with estate planning, this course enhances your ability to adopt a more integrated approach to your client work.
The Certificate also explores the needs of trustee clients, incapacitated clients and charity clients, along with up-to-date coverage of will trusts and the transferable nil-rate band.
By the end of the course, you will be well versed in the complex legal and taxation factors impacting various types of private clients and be able to:
- Deliver more holistic investment and financial planning advice to clients
- Efficiently work with private client professionals
- Build your business through enhanced professional credibility and a wider network of contacts
The Certificate takes four months to complete and is a fully online course delivered through an online learning platform. Assessment is by way of a three-hour, closed-book examination and once you have successfully completed this course you will gain 30 Entry Level credits towards STEP membership.
This Certificate is open entry and applicants should be financial services professionals who have some experience or have undertaken previous study of trusts, tax and estate planning. The course is suitable for investment advisers, financial planners and those working in the banking sector dealing with trusts and estates.
Examinations are held in the following centres: London, Manchester, Bristol, Birmingham, Leeds and Edinburgh.
